Remember that guy Kevin Garnett that literally EVERY Celtics fan rooted for from 2008 to 2013? The same guy who won DPOY as a member of the team in 2008, which also just happens to be the same year the Boston Celtics won their last title. The guy who was an Eastern All-Star 4 out of the 6 years he was in Boston. Finished with 2 First-Team All-Defense awards in back-to-back seasons only to finish on the Second-Team All-Defense a few years later. Yeah, well some people are absolutely furious that this same guy is getting his number hung up in the rafters at the Garden. Crazy right? There are living and breathing humans out there that actually think that Kevin Garnett should never have his number retired in Boston! Idiots!
Specifically on the one place where everyone on the planet goes to complain and it's pretty much universally accepted...Facebook.

First off, if it weren't for KG, then the Celtics would currently be playing their 34th consecutive season without winning a championship. Also, who cares if you aren't too fond of "one good season for retiring a number?" Were you mad when the Celtics won their first championship in 22 years because of Garnett? How about the fact the KG single-handedly caused Boston sports fans to actually care about the Celtics again? And are you kidding me about the whole "one good season" argument?! If you look at the stat sheets and boxscores more than you watch the games, then your argument simply does not count. You have to be an absolute psychopath to think KG only had one good year in Boston.

Cringeworthy?! This guy already admitted KG is a Hall of Famer and one of the fiercest players in NBA history. He forgot to mention the rest of his accolades, but maybe its because Facebook simply won't allow you to type that many characters to fit them all in. But I guess it's cheesy to retire that guy's number?. P.U. Can't have that.

"U have to retire a number more than ten years not just cuz u won a championship"...according to who?! Your imaginary rules that you make up in your heads? Can you truly tell me that Kevin Garnett is not one of the best Celtics of all time? No! Of course, you can't! Also, this was not a Kawhi situation at all. Kevin Garnett spent 6 whole years in Boston. Think back to what you were doing 6 years ago around this time. Almost impossible to remember right? Does it seem like a long time ago? Well, that is because 6 years IS a long time! Kahwi spent just about one full calendar year in Toronto and then got out of there immediately. KG still had half a decade wearing green and white left after his first season with the Celtics. Finally, do you know how many Celtics players that have their numbers retired in the Garden "went to another team?" 7. And that is me being generous due to some players playing one season with another team at the very end of their careers. So this whole guy's argument makes absolutely no sense and he is just out here blindly commenting from his couch.

Here we see another pea-brain thinking KG only had one good season. The fact that this guy thinks that players don't come here because of numbers being retired is absurd. However, I don't hate the idea of having the players wearing letters on their jerseys instead of numbers. A poster of Jaylen Brown dunking on someone with a clean JB stitched on his jersey would be unbelievable. Adam Silver will see the vision soon.

I'm calling the police.

Did I miss anything, or has the celebration started yet? Yeah, a few tweets, Instagram posts, and what not have been sent across the social media world, but have we actually celebrated KG's jersey going up towards the rafters yet? Nope, so I don't know how anything is over the top.
Whether you like it or not, Kevin Garnett's #5 is RIGHTFULLY being retired. Nobody brought the energy and passion to the Garden on a nightly basis as Garnett did. From headbutting his head against the basket to chest-bumping towards the crowd before tip as his hype video played on the jumbotron, Kevin Garnett brought out the most of Celtics fans.
