Why Don't Refs Have Post-Game Press Conferences?

Refs, more the most part, stink at their jobs. They are the WORST. Yeah, I'm sure they are technically the elite of the elite among the people who apply, but I think all sports fans would agree that they are horrendous at their jobs.

Now, this begs the question, why don't refs have their own postgame press conferences? When a player has a bad game, makes the game losing play, or impacts the game negatively in any sort of way, he is greeted by media members, cameras, and microphones in the locker room. It comes with the job. The NBA is a business and a reality TV show just as much as it is a game. They are the ones who decide the winners from the losers and make game-winning plays. Well, sometimes with the help from referees.

There have been countless games where the refs have decided the outcome of the game. Sometimes it works out for your team, but for the most part, it absolutely crushes them. If refs want to make themselves as important as players are, then they should have to face the cameras and explain themselves after crumbling in the spotlight time and time again.

Why hasn't this ever been brought in any of the players association meetings? They are the guys who not only get screwed by the refs but have the power to actually change something. Just picture the viral referee quotes that would regularly come out after games. The NBA is already the most popular sport on social media, but if they want to really dominate that market, then they should have these press conferences become a thing. The same goes for the NFL, NHL, MLB, etc. If you want ratings, then have separate press conferences for the refs.
